Chamber & Member Announcements:

1. LCOC GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Our next General Membership meeting is Wednesday, January 14, at the Il Giardino. Details to follow.
 
2. LCOC BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS
a. The Board has made the following officer appointments for the upcoming year: John Cafiero, President; Jamie Johnston, Vice President and Chair of the Membership Committee; LuAnn Ford, Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee; Jason Henbest, Secretary; Alan Thatcher, Director of Operations and Chair of the Events Committee; and Dawn Malinowski, Director of Communications and Chair of the Communications Committee.
b. The Board is looking to hire the Chamber's first Executive Director on a part-time basis. We are seeking a candidate who will staff the Chamber office as a Welcome Center, help to grow the Chamber by networking with local businesses and community leaders, and help keep our projects, events, and fundraisers on track! We see this as a great opportunity to increase the Chamber's, and its members', profiles and to provide an even greater value to our members. c. The Chamber Events Committee is meeting tomorrow, December 18, at 5:00 PM at the Home Turf office (3 Union Blvd., Barnegat, NJ).
 

3. FROM LACEY FOOD BANK

TOMORROW, Thursday, December 18, is the drop off for donations to the Lacey Food Bank's Kids Christmas Project.
 
4. FROM DREAMSCAPES MUSIC

Dreamscapes Music Productions will be having its Winter Artist Showcase at The Cove in Bayville on December 20, 2014, at 12:00 noon. This is a free event, open to the public. Enjoy lunch overlooking the beautiful Barnegat Bay and listen to students, recording artists, and songwriters perform music. You will also have the chance to sign up for 2015 lessons at a special discounted rate!

 And be sure to come out on New Year's Eve with White Rabbit at 8:00 PM at the Captain's Inn!

Community Options is hosting the Cupid's Chase 5K on February 14, 2015, in Seaside Heights.

The local Rotary is hosting a Chef's Night Out on January 25, 2015 (the Sunday before the Big Game).

1. LCOC GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
We had a great meeting last week at the Captain's Inn. See the agenda (ATTACHED) for a recap of the announcements made there. And thank you to Mark Malinowski and Frank Monetti for their presentations----great information.

2. HELP THE CHAMBER GROW
Bring a potential new member with his or her business card to our LCOC meeting next month (or any month on the second Wednesday at the Captains Inn at 6:30pm), and the guest gets a free dinner! (The current member only pays for their own dinner.) The guest must be brought by a current LCOC member and must be in a position to be able to consider joining our chamber with the business they are representing on their business card. (Limit one free dinner per guest.) The LCOC Board thought this might be a nice, low-pressure way of inviting guests to see our Chamber in action. Once they visit, how could they not join?!?

3. LCOC EVENTS COMMITTEE
There will be an Events Committee meeting on Tuesday, 9/23, at 6 pm at the Home Turf offices (3 Union Blvd., Barnegat, NJ; across from Big Lots). All members that are interested in joining the committee and helping with upcoming events (Trunk or Treat, Christmas Party, Multi-Chamber Networking Event, Comedy Show) are asked to attend.

1. LCOC GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
It is already time for our next general membership meeting! last week at the Captain's Inn. We will be hosting our local candidates tonight. Each candidate will have a couple of minutes to address the membership, and we will then allow the members and candidates to mingle so that we have a chance to meet the candidates and let them know what is important to us as business owners in Lacey. We will get started with open networking at 6:30, and the meeting will start at 7:00.

 
Also, we are preparing for the last delivery of welcome bags for 2014. This is open to all current members of the Chamber and is free of charge!! We are sending out 183 bags this time; so we are looking for members to supply 183 of their promotional materials to be stuffed into the bags and then sent out to the new homeowners in Lacey. (Remember that we cannot store any extra materials; if you give us more than 183 items, the extras will be discarded.) If you would like your promotional materials included, you can bring them to the general membership meeting tonight or our next meeting scheduled for November 12. If you cannot make a meeting, you can drop the materials off during regular business hours at the Coldwell Banker Riviera Realty office on Lacey Road (just off the Parkway).

3. LCOC TRUNK OR TREAT
The Lacey Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Trunk of Treat event on Saturday, October 25, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. We would love to see our members out there promoting their businesses and giving out treats. The event is being promoted through the local schools and day care centers as well as online. Should be a great time!

5. LCOC BOARD ELECTIONS
November is fast approaching! We have three Chamber Board seats up for election. If you are interested in serving on the Board, it is a great time and a great way to get your name out there even more! The Barnegat Chamber is hosting their Second Annual Classic Car & Truck Show on November 15, and they are looking for sponsors!

Dreamscapes will be hosting a free event at Lighthouse Tavern in Waretown on Oct 11 at 12pm. Music will be performed by Dreamscapes Music Artists and the bar will keep it festive by having great Octoberfest food and drink specials! This is a free event and open to the public! Come check out local New Jersey Artists and see why Dreamscapes Music is "Where Dreams in Music Come Alive!"

Coldwell Banker Riviera is hosting a health fair on Monday, October 13th from 10AM-3PM at their Manahawkin Office located at 364 Route 9 in Manahawkin, NJ 08050. The Dr. Jan Astin Mobile Digital Mammography Van will be there. Coldwell Banker Riviera will also be selling T-shirts to benefit the Meridian Health Oncology Fund. Please join us!
